Biofilm Treatment

HVAC Biofilm Detection
& Elimination

Standard cleaning misses biofilm. UV-fluorescence reveals what white light can't see. EPA-registered antimicrobials eliminate what standard cleaning can't kill. We prove it with InstaScope data.

The Hidden Threat

What Is HVAC Biofilm
and Why Does It Matter?

Biofilm is a structured community of microorganisms — bacteria, mold, and other pathogens — encased in a self-produced protective matrix. Inside HVAC systems, biofilm colonizes duct surfaces, drain pans, cooling coils, and AHU components, creating a persistent reservoir of contamination that standard cleaning cannot eliminate.

Unlike planktonic (free-floating) microorganisms, biofilm is up to 1,000 times more resistant to antimicrobials. Standard duct cleaning may remove visible debris while leaving biofilm colonies intact — and those colonies will re-contaminate your air within days.

Biofilm is 1,000× more resistant to antimicrobials than planktonic bacteria
Standard white-light inspection cannot detect biofilm
Biofilm harbors Legionella, Pseudomonas, and Aspergillus even after standard cleaning
HVAC biofilm can re-colonize within 48–72 hours if not fully eliminated
EPA-registered antimicrobials are required to penetrate and destroy biofilm matrix
UV-Fluorescence Detection

See What Standard Inspection Misses

Our VD-FID ductoscope uses dual-wavelength UV (365nm and 405nm) to cause biofilm to fluoresce — revealing colonies that are completely invisible under white light. We document every location with video before treatment begins.

EPA-Registered Treatment

Eliminate, Don't Just Suppress

We use EPA-registered hospital-grade antimicrobials specifically formulated to penetrate biofilm matrix. Mechanical agitation breaks up the protective layer before antimicrobial application — ensuring full penetration and elimination.

Treatment Protocol

The VerifiClean Biofilm Elimination Protocol

Step 01

UV Scan

Dual-wavelength UV fluorescence scan reveals all biofilm colonies with video documentation.

Step 02

Mechanical Agitation

Controlled mechanical agitation breaks up biofilm matrix to expose colonies to antimicrobial.

Step 03

Antimicrobial Application

EPA-registered hospital-grade antimicrobial applied with full dwell time monitoring.

Step 04

Verification

Post-treatment UV scan and InstaScope test confirms complete biofilm elimination.
