Conventional duct cleaning with negative air machines can collapse, tear, and destroy flex ducting — the most common duct type in New Mexico homes. AirVerify™ testing is the diagnostic layer that makes safe, low-pressure cleaning possible.
Standard truck-mount negative air machines generate 3–8 inches of water column (IWC) of suction pressure. Flexible ductwork — which accounts for the majority of residential HVAC systems in New Mexico — is designed to operate at pressures below 1 IWC. Exceeding this threshold causes the inner liner to collapse inward, the outer jacket to tear, and insulation to separate from the duct wall.
